Acupuncturist Training & Qualifications

In this video I share all about the extensive clinical and educational training acupuncturists go through before being able to get licensed.

Acupuncture is a Masters degree. It is 3 years full time study with over 3000 clinical hours. We studied several subjects, including anatomy & physiology, myology, neurology, and Chinese medicine. We had electives in functional medicine, mind-body techniques, gua sha, and cupping among several others.

In my school, we learned 3 different styles of acupuncture, including trigger point dry needling, traditional Chinese medicine, and Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese style. It was a comprehensive education that gave us tools to effectively address the root cause as well as symptoms.

Acupuncturists take board exams for licensure. In summary, this is not some weekend course ;).

Acupuncturists are the BEST qualified people to receive any form of needling from!
